2021 Hurricane Season Will Be Active, NC State Researchers Predict
The 2021 Atlantic hurricane season will see 15 to 18 named storms forming in the Atlantic basin, according to researchers at North Carolina State University. The Atlantic basin includes the entire Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea.

FHA Heath, Safety & Security Mission

As stated in the Fearrington Homeowners Association (FHA) Articles of Incorporation, one of the important purposes of the FHA is to "provide for the health, safety and welfare" of the residents of Fearrington Village. As part of this important mission, and to comply with the Articles, the FHA works hard to develop and sustain policies, programs, and services that will help to keep village residents healthy and safe.

The FHA HSS Director oversees emergency preparedness, village road safety, and Community Watch information, sometimes working with ad hoc advisory committees.
At times in the past several years, over 35 residents have served in such advisory roles. Their work and support have been invaluable and very much appreciated.

In addition to its communication with Fearrington residents, the FHA HSS Director maintains collaborative relationships with the Chatham County Emergency Management Department and 911, Emergency Medical Services (FirstHealth/EMS), the Chatham County North Chatham Fire Department, the Chatham County Sheriff's Department, and traffic engineers at the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT, which is responsible for 54 state secondary roads in the village).
