Knox Box Residential Emergency Access Key Safe

A Recommended Item

The Residential Knox-Box® is a high security key safe designed for single family homes that only local emergency responders can access. With a Residential KNOX-BOX® installed, emergency responders can respond quickly, without forcing entry. They simply remove your entrance key stored inside, provide medical assistance and re-lock your door when they leave.

Fearrington Cares is working with theham County/North Chatham Fire Department as the on-site village liaison and coordinator for Knox Box® information and resident installations. Volunteer installers from Fearrington Cares have been trained in how to install these boxes, know the proper installation requirements, do the installations for no charge, and should be the installers.

Fearrington Cares will provide a regular opportunity to order a Knox Box on the second Tuesday of each month. You are also able to order the Knox Box on line if you choose (www.knoxbox.com).

The installations are guided by the Chatham County/North Chatham Fire Department's recommendation, which is that the box should be mounted next to the front door, on the striker side of the door if possible, at a height of 5 to 6 feet.

For information on installation, contact Fearrington Cares at 919-542-6877 or info@fearringtoncares.org
